How to Use the LiquidTrainer®

The LiquidTrainer® is an innovative and versatile tool that will keep you smiling as you move through exercises that can be customized for every skill and fitness level. It offers many benefits like increasing flexibility, core strength, hand-eye coordination and cardiovascular fitness. Moreover, it will give you respite from a long day at work or school, and recharge your mind for sharper focus and attention. There is a calmer side to the LiquidTrainer® as well, where you can achieve a meditative state while flowing gently with the water inside, connecting your mind and body. Let’s take a closer look at what the LiquidTrainer® is and the many ways to use it.

What is the LiquidTrainer®?

The LiquidTrainer® is a tube-like bag made from polyurethane with a small amount of water inside; about 2 lbs of weight. The amount of water you put inside the bag is up to you – you can opt for a little less to begin with and work up to adding more. There is a soft, comfortable rubber handle at each end, designed for easy manipulation of the bag.

How Do You Use the LiquidTrainer®?

We know that this piece of equipment is unlike anything you’ve seen or used before. Pick one up and you may not know what to do with it! Fear not – read on for a sampling of the many different ways to use the LiquidTrainer®.

Proprietary Movement Course

Through the development of the LiquidTrainer®, we created a proprietary movement system that will teach you everything you need to know to get into the flow, and really feel the mind-body balance. It will get your heart pumping and your muscles working. The great thing about the LiquidTrainer® and our Flo Dynamic Movement System™ is that every piece can be adjusted for your own fitness and mobility level. We do highly recommend and encourage learning the foundational movements within the FDMS

Warmup Before Other Activities

A quick 5 minutes playing with the LiquidTrainer® can get your entire body ready for physical activity. Loosen up muscles and joints and prepare the body for exercise with the gentle flow. You will also “awaken” your brain while you twist and turn, following the water with your eyes. It travels easily so you can toss it in your gym bag and give it a go before any other activities. 

Stretching

A great benefit of working with the LiquidTrainer® is the improvement you will see in your own flexibility. Through the gentle movements, back and forth, you will experience dynamic stretching without really even knowing it! Before long, practitioners notice that they can deepen a lunge or twist their trunk more fully. And it’s all done while practicing a calm, low impact workout. 

Meditative Flow 

When we set out to create the LiquidTrainer®, it was important to us to include a level of introspection or meditation, if you will. With practice, you will begin to feel the LiquidTrainer® as an extension of your own arms and hands, moving the water through the bag in a constant flow. When movements become natural to you, an incredible thing happens. A keen self-awareness and connection to the mind/body will have you feeling rejuvenated, much like a meditation.

Energy and Mood Boost

If you’re working long hours or sitting for long periods of time, keeping the LiquidTrainer® nearby is a good idea. You can set out for a 10 minute session and ward off that afternoon slump. Many of our customers report a great boost in energy levels and improved moods after using the LiquidTrainer®. Its portability means you can take it to the office with you and pull it out when you start to feel sluggish or even grumpy.

Brain Break

Give it a rest, would ya? Jokes aside, taking a break from continuous activity – especially at work – is beneficial in many ways. You can use the LiquidTrainer® for your movement breaks, taking 5-10 minutes to refocus your energy and brain power on something else. Concentrating on your body, proprioceptive awareness, ground reaction force, and the kinesthetic chain can realign your mind and sharpen your focus for the rest of the day. It’s a fun way to get moving and improve your brain function for increased productivity. 

Targeted Athletic Training

The beauty of the LiquidTrainer® is that it can help athletes train for specific improvements or even help rehab sports related injuries. We see all of our users improve flexibility, balance, core strength, and stamina.The rotational movements and swing of the bag make it a perfect tool to teach or improve a golf swing. It is low impact and gentle on muscles and joints, making it ideal for mastering technique. Swimmers also see great benefit from the LiquidTrainer® as they can mimic some of the strokes like the breast- and backstroke. The same muscles are activated and strengthened so when jumping in the pool is not an option, swimmers can break out the LiquidTrainer® and retain their conditioning. Having been modeled after some of the key aspects in martial arts and dance, these types of athletes will also reap the benefits of using it. 

The LiquidTrainer® is a fantastic tool to keep on hand for a quick, refreshing warm up or rejuvenation. It also provides a stand alone workout that will have your muscles burning and your heart pumping. Before you know it, you will be spinning, jumping, and twisting while throwing the bag from side to side and up and down, like it’s part of your own body. But remember that you can tailor the workout so easily that a gentle flow in a meditative state of mind is also a wonderful function of the LiquidTrainer®.
